My Fashion Truck Journey

I have been contemplating starting a fashion truck for about a year now.  It just seemed logical to me.  I read this article about taking the store to your customers instead of sitting waiting for your customers to walk in the door.  After I read that I was like exactly!  I then started searching for different sites to help me with my plan, or even other fashion truck owners sharing helpful information.  What I found was that most were charging for helpful information.  For those who know me, I am on the thrifty side.  Some sites were charging as much as $175.00 for basic information.  I decided against that!  Of course!! So this weekend I took the plunge.  I have been researching trucks for the past three months.  I knew about how much they cost, what I wanted in a truck and where to look.  I started scoping out Craigslist on a regular basis.  I mean you can find anything on Craigslist.  So last week, I couldn't believe what I read.  1992 GMC truck, 98,000 miles $2000.00 OBO!  I freaked.  Like I said I have been researching for awhile.  The cheapest I had come across was around $3500.00.  The truck was in Wichita Falls, Texas.  We live in Dallas, so it about 2 hours away.  But, for the deal I was willing to drive the 2 hours!  I called the owner and he advised me that the truck was still available.  I explained to him that I would have to come on the weekend since I was in Dallas.  He agreed.  That Friday afternoon I called to see if the truck was still available.  He said it was, he also stated that several people from Dallas had called about it.  He promised to hold it until 9:00 am on Saturday since I was the first to call.  I told him I would be there at 8:00am!  I was there by 7:15!

My husband and my oldest son accompanied me on my journey to Wichita Falls.  We were on the road at 5:15am, so needless to say they weren't much company on the drive.  But, it was okay I was too excited to care.

I have documented with pictures and video as much as possible. You can check out my videos on my Youtube channel and pics on our facebook page.
